ITANAGAR, April 19: Kurung Kumey has become the fourteenth district of Arunachal Pradesh after bifurcation of Lower Subansiri district, reports PTI. The notification issued on Monday was delayed due to census operation, Information and Public Relation Minister Takam Sanjay, who is also spokesman of the state government said in a release here on Thursday. "Though infrastructural set-up and establishment would take more time, the people of Kurung Kumey district would reap the benefit in the long run," the minister said. Agri extension: Arunachal Pradesh Agriculture Minister, Tako Dabi has emphasised the need for agri extension services, mechanisation of agricultural activities, irrigation facilities and procurement of high yeiding seeds to develop the real economy of the state through agriculture. Inaugurating a departmental meeting here on Thursday Dabi also stressed control of diseases and proper utilisation of human resources to make agriculture more purposeful. "Better marketing network should be created to avoid the problem of plenty", he said.
