2835 kg ganja seized from tanker in Kohima

DIMAPUR, April 29 ? In yet another case of utilizing the oil tankers as the safe carriers to smuggle the contraband ganja, cultivated in Manipur or smuggled from the neighbouring country Myanmar--the biggest producer of the contraband in the region-- to the most potential markets in the mainland states of India, personnel of Kohima North P S seized 2835 kgs of the contraband ganja smartly concealed inside oil chambers of the tanker. Police personnel manning the check gate near the BSF camp, Kohima arrested two persons?Thampal Sinha and Robin Singh both from Samaram village under Thoubal district of Manipur for carrying the ganja from Manipur to Gauhati and also seized the oil tanker (AS-01J 4829) used for carrying the consignment.
