GUWAHATI, January 28: Prakash Karat, Politburo member of Communist Party of India (Marxist) today called upon the AGP for clarifying its stand in regard to its relationship with the BJP in view of the latest development in the political scenario of the State. Speaking at the state-level rally of the party's Assam State Committee at Judges' Field here this afternoon Karat maintained that his party would have no hesitation in continuing its alliance with AGP in the coming Assembly polls provided the party toed the CPI(M)'s one-point agenda of defeating the sinister designs of both BJP and Congress. The veteran leader voiced his concerns over the AGP's closeness with the BJP. Coming down heavily on BJP-led NDA government for its communal politics and corrupt ways in the name of economic liberalisation Karat termed BJP as the topmost enemy of the nation closely followed by Congress and urged upon all concerned for defeating them in the polls to save the nation's future. Stressing heavily upon forming a 'third front' to confront BJP and Congress in the coming polls he said that a beginning could be made right from the state-level polls to be extended to national-level. He also emphasised upon learning from the mistakes committed during the formation of the Third Front in 1996 and called upon all Left and like-minded parties for putting up a brave front against Congress and BJP. He also accused Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee of safeguarding his Cabinet colleagues-Home Minister L K Advani, HRD Minister M M Joshi and Sport Minister Uma Bharati for their involvement in the Ayodhya dispute. Karat wondered how could a common man expect to get justice from such a leader.
