ITAKHOLA, Nov 10 ?When more than 15 lakh educated unemployed youths of Assam are dreaming of getting a government job, an educated youth of Tupia village of North Jamuguri area of Sonitpur had shown the path of self-dependence by planting tea sapling in her residential campus.
Moromi Borthakur, the second daughter of Madan Borthakur of Tupia village has been planting tea in a plot of seven bighas of land. Recently the tea planter was invited to attend a press meeting as a guest of honour organised by North Jamuguri Press Club. Attending the meet, she disclosed that after waiting long for a government job, she decided that she would made herself self-reliant without depending on a government job.
She also said that she has collected 400 kg of tea leaves weekly which is sufficient to take care of herself and her small family. She has also employed 10 workers in her garden.
She said that if everybody works with confidence then every unemployed youth can make onesefl self-reliant. But they have to erase the dream of government job from their mind. It is to be noted that Moromi is a reknowned dancer and is presently working as a dance teacher at Abhiyatri Dance School of Jamugurihat.
