Anti-BTC rally at Kalaigaon

MANGALDOI, Feb 3 ? A huge public rally by non-Bodos was held today at Kalaigaon under the presidentship of Sri Bireswar Saikia, district convenor, Sanmilita Janagosthiya Sangram Samittee (SJSS) against the formation of BTC. Sri Brajen Mahanta, SJSS, leader observed that the BTC under the umbrella of the Sixth Schedule, if granted, would amount to formation of a separate State. In case BTC is formed as per the Sixth Schedule under Article 323, of the Constitution non-Bodos would have no rights, he disclosed. The rally was also addressed by veteran freedom fighter, Sri P R Das, Sri Hareswar Barman, president URMCA and Sri Dhiraj Barman, president, All Assam Koch-Rajbangshi Yuva Chatra Parishad.
