Apang reshuffles ministry

ITANAGAR, July 22 ? Arunachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Kameng Dolo, Home Minister L Wanglat and PWD Minister Lichi Legi retained their portfolios when Chief Minister Gegong Apang reallocated portfolios of 12 ministers on Wednesday, a notification from the Department of Cabinet Affairs said, reports PTI. TL Rajkumar who earlier held law, justice and parliamentary affairs was given public health engineering and animal husbandry.

Rima Taipodia who held information and public relation has been made minister for education, irrigation and flood control. Relief and rehabilitation minister Dorjee Khandu has been given additional charge of health and family welfare and CC Singpho has been shifted from land management to civil supplies and consumer affairs. The Chief Minister will retain portfolios not allocated to any minister which includes finance.

After dropping 21 ministers on July 6 to implement downsizing of his ministry as per the 91st Constitutional Amendment, Apang had recommended dissolution of the Assembly the next day and Governor VC Pande dissolved the House which sparked off protest from the Opposition Congress.

Opposition members of the dissolved House led by APCC chief and former Chief Minister Mukut Mithi gheraod the Governor and demanded imposition of President?s Rule in the State which created a furore, the echo of which was heard in Parliament during its budget session. The Assembly election is due in the State in September.
