Assam Police, BSF to monitor border jointly

GUWAHATI, June 10 ? The Assam Police and the BSF today decided to establish a monitoring system for joint cooperation along the international border, reports PTI. In a meeting between top Assam policemen and BSF officials here, it was decided to jointly work on detection work with coordination with other law-enforcing agencies, official sources said here. All the watch posts required to check infiltration across the border would be geared up and emphasis would be given for maintaining better records in the concerned watch posts. The meeting decided to give top priority to check infiltration specially from across the Assam-Bangladesh international border, the sources said. The officials stressed on organising a joint task force to check demographic pattern of border areas and to take other follow-up steps accordingly.
