ATTF to dictate terms in ADC polls

AGARTALA, Dec18 ? With ADC polls around the corner, the All Tripura Tigers? Force is gearing up to outdo the rival faction. Preparations have begun in the militant camps located in Bangladesh, a source reported. The ATTF outfit is determined to repeat what their rival Bishwamohan faction had done in the previous polls.

Reports said a fresh group of newly recruited members who had gone to Bangladesh have completed their training and are ready for the operation. These group members are expected to make entry after the Christmas. Alongwith the members of some other outfits of North East, some Naga militants are also expected to join them. These militants, expert in guerrilla warfare, have acquired the latest techniques.

In the previous ADC poll, it was the Bishwamohan group of NLFT which called the shots and their revival started after the elections. In back-to-back elections, boycott calls were sounded. The likes of Kamini Debbarma and Mantu Koloi joined the mainstream.

The faction led by Nayanbashi also started preparation to lay down arms. The support of the Naga outfits are expected to give a new impetus to the ATTF armoury. The sudden decision of the NSCN (Khaplang) to offer support to the ATTF is assumed very significant, feel experts.

Reports further said that the joint operation by both the outfits along the Indo-Bangladesh border is going on with full swing. Most of the bases of ATTF are in Bangladesh now and they are providing the Naga militants a safe base. Earlier, ATTF provided support to ULFA as well.

The help will come in the form of arms consignment. With the ATTF militants trying to repeat the feat achieved by Biswamohan faction in the earlier ADC polls, security forces are going to have a tough time, sources added.
