HAILAKANDI, July 21 ? Border Security Force (BSF) has unearthed a major plan of Bangladeshi militant groups to impart arms training to NE youths in Bangladesh. BSF got the information while interrogating the arrested leader of the students?s unit of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam of Bangladesh, Farooque Ahmed Talukdar. It may be mentioned here that Farooque was arrested in Hailakandi town last week by the police and later handed over to the BSF. Police said that he is a resident of Surikandi village of Maulavibazar in Bangladesh and came to Hailakandi in December last year for studying a graduate course in a madrassa here and simultaneously started jehadi activities. Police also recovered some incriminating documents and books and papers of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam. He also revealed before the BSF that he has already sent some unemployed youths of the State to Bangladesh for Jehadi training. He also revealed their names as Abu Sama of Ratanpur Quami Madrassa in Hailakandi, teacher of Sivasagar Madrassa Abu Kalam and Farasuddin Barbhuiya of Hailakandi. Police informed that Farooque had taken the help of a tout named Hussain Ahmed Barbhuiya alias Salim Karimganj and that the former had visited Bangladesh at least three times during the last couple of months. BSF has also arrested Salim and is interrogating him. He has confessed before the BSF interrogators in Karimganj camp.
