Book on cross-border trade of NE released

GUWAHATI, Dec 25 — Arvind Dave, the Governor of Arunachal Pradesh, at a simple function recently in the Raj Bhawan in Itanagar released a book edited by Dr S Dutta, professor and head, Department of History of Arunachal University on ‘Cross-Border Trade of the North East: The Arunachal Perspective’. The function was attended among others by Suresh Roy, Director General of Police, secretary to the Governor, Jitendra Narain, Dr Tai Nyri, registrar, Arunachal University and a number of faculty members from Arunachal University stated a release. Releasing the book, the Governor said that the book is the first of its kind on Arunachal Pradesh. The suggestions provided in the book will provide information and guidance to the State and Central Governments on opening of border trade for Arunachal Pradesh. While appreciating the academic efforts made by Prof Dutta, Governor Dave put forward a number of suggestions and projects for the University authority to improve the physical and academic facilities of the University. Prof Dutta donated four of his other books to the Raj Bhawan library on the occasion.
