ITANAGAR, June 29?Arunachal Pradesh Government is making concerted efforts to re-open the traditional border trade routes with China, Bhutan and Myanmar to make this tribal-dominated state a nerve center of border trade in near future. ?My govt. is perusing the matter with utmost effort with the Center for taking up bilateral talks with the Governments of our neighbouring countries on priority basis?, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Mukut Mithi said. The Chief Minister stated this while laying the foundation stone for circle headquarters office of Rima Putak in Changlang district of Arunachal Pradesh on Tuesday, according to delayed official release here said. Mithi said everything is going in the right in this regard, and was hopeful that his government would be able to convince the BJP-led NDA government at the Center for the re-opening of the international border road from Nampong in the State to Myanmar via Pangsu Pass. Apart, Pangsu Pass in Tirap, Zemithang in Tawang district, Kibito and Walong in Lohit district, Geling in Upper Siang, Monigong in West Siang and Taksing in Upper Subansiri district of Arunachal Pradesh are some of the places which has existing border trade with China. As far as re-opening of the border trade with China is concerned, the Center has taken up the matter with Beijing on several occasion on the repeated insistence of the State govt. However, the response from Chinese was very poor, an official said.
