SHILLONG, May 27 – The Border Security Force (BSF) has handed over a list of 210 North East militant hide-outs in Bangladesh to the Bangladesh Rifles (BDR) urging the latter to initiate operations against the ultras.
The border force has also agreed to conduct joint operations with the BDR in India, if similar camps of terrorist outfits of the neighbouring country existed on this side of the border. The BDR has claimed that Bangladeshi militants have set up camps in the north eastern region of India, specially in the State of Tripura.
Inspector General of the BSF’s Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur and Nagaland Frontier, S.C. Srivastava, told reporters here that the list of ultra camps in Bangladesh was handed over during a meeting between the director generals of BSF and BDR at Dhaka last month.
The BSF had earlier handed over a list of 194 anti-India terrorist camps in the neighbouring country, while urging the BDR to carry out operations against the ultras.
