IMPHAL, January 4: Amidst political speculations and hectic behind the screen-maneuverings, the chief minister, W Nipamacha who is not out of woods as yet failed to have a meeting with the Union Home Minister LK Advani. Sources close to MSCP say that the meeting had to be cancelled, as there is national executive meeting of the BJP. However, the fact is that this BJP meeting had been fixed long time back, and the Union Home minister who had fixed the meeting with the chief minister could not have forgotten this national executive meeting. A report from New Delhi said that the Union Home minister may meet the chief minister tomorrow at 3.30 pm. The MSCP sources said that since most of the important issues had already been committed by the Chief Minister, another round of meeting has become more or less redundant. All that is required is to submit a statement on the action taken report. Security measures will be beefed up in the state once the additional security forces at the level of pre Kargil war position are rushed here. The chief minister also had agreed that CBI inquiries will be instituted into the scams that had rocked the state. Most of the scams had roots 10 years or so ago which means that incumbent chief minister cannot pull up.
