NEW DELHI, Dec 27?The Dima Halam Daogah (DHD) has appealed to all insurgent outfits of the North east to come forward for negotiations. DHD chief Joel Garlusa has also made an appeal to the Government of India to go for a political settlement of issues with militants through political dialogue.
The DHD, which has a ceasefire pact with the Centre, is planning to submit its list of political demands to the Government of India. The outfit is demanding a separate state of ?Dimaraji?.
A delegation of DHD, led by Garlusa, is currently in the capital to hold talks for extension of the ceasefire. The current round of ceasefire is expires on December 30.. The outfit is likely to have a discussion with officials of the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) on Monday.
Reacting to the developments in Bhutan, the DHD chief has said that the militants are fighting for their own cause in the NE, so these operations should be stopped immediately. ?We have nothing to do against Bhutan or its people and therefore we appeal to the Royal Government of Bhutan to immediately provide relief to the injured non-combatants and injured prisoners and hand them over to their families through any international monitoring agency,? Garlusa said in a signed statement here today.
