Imphal, December 03: Even as the two MLAs of the DRPP have merged with the Congress and its president Khaidem Mani had announced the merger of the DRPP with the Congress party, the other DRPP members who were opposed to the merger move have today announced that the party has joined hands with the Opposition bloc, DPA. Speaking to newsmen today, MPP president and key leader of the DPA O Joy said that the DRPP has joined hands with the DPA and added that since the Congress has stabbed the DRPP, the party (DRPP) must learnt a bitter lesson. O Joy said that the DPA has finalized the process to move a case to get the two DRPP MLAs who have merged with the Congress disqualified from the Assembly. Taking a dig at Khaidem Mani, Joy said that Mani switch-ed side to the Congress with eyes of getting a plum appointment but today he has been left holding empty straws. Mention may be made here that the DRPP which had two MLAs first joined hands with the Opposition DPA but later switched side to the ruling SPF Government. Later the two MLAs merged with the Congress. Its two MLAs, Dr T Meinya and N Biren are in the Council of Ministers. DPA leader RK Dorendra said that the main reason why the DRPP has rejoined the DPA would be spelt out in details to the people on December 7. M Bhorot said that DRPP joined the DPA as the Congress is losing ground all over the country.
