IMPHAL, March 12? In a following incident of punishing individuals indlgingin unfair means in the examination, unknown armed gunmen shot at five individuals including two invigilators in Thoubal district on Monday. It may be recalled that three other individuals allegeldy involved in indulging in unfair means in the ongoing higher seconday school certificate examination, were attacked by unknown armed youths in Thoubal and Imphal East districts, on its first day. In Monday?s shooting incidents, two examination invigilators statement at Pole Star college, Kakching in Thoubal district were shot at their legs by the attackers around 1020 am. After a couple of minutes, three other examination helpers were also shot at by another unknown armed term insdie the premises of Kakching HIgher Secondary School on the same morning. The identifies of the injured individuals were yet to be ascertained here. It may be worth mentioning here that the prescribed Kangalai Yowol Kanna Lup,KYKL had earlier warned the examination helpers as well as invigilators not to encourage unfair means and had even impoed ?curfew? in and around the periphery of all examination centres in the State before the start of examinations. The ongoing higher secondary school certificate examination began from March 8. A total of 23,476 students are taking part in the examinations. There are about 61 examination centres across the State. In another development, over 30 students appearing in the current examinations have been expelled by theCouncil officials for using unfair means in the examination halls, sources added.
