Gegong Apang ministry facing crisis

NEW DELHI, June 8 – The deadline for downsizing of ministries may be less than a month away but the North East is about to have its first victim, with tremors shaking the Gegong Apang Government in Arunachal Pradesh.

Honeymoon between the BJP and Chief Ministerrevealed Gegong Apang seems to be shortlived and appears to be have been even shorter then the rival Congress Party calculated. Speculation is rife that Apang himself along with his ministerial colleagues may walk over to the Congress Party before the deadline of July 7.

Serious political crisis has hit Arunachal Pradesh, with Apang facing yet another bitter struggle for survival in the wake of a group of his ministerial colleagues, who originally switched sides from the Congress Party showing inclination to show their back to the BJP Government.

If Apang is still managing to survive the crisis it is because the Congress in the State is divided, with one section favouring Apang’s return to the Congress and the other led by PCC president, Mithi stonewalling the move.

The scene has meanwhile, shifted to Delhi where both the rival camps pitched tents along with their supporters meeting the High Command of their respective parties.
