Industrial growth centre set up in Nagaland

DIMAPUR, May 22 ? To find a place in the industrial map of the North-east, Nagaland government has set up an industrial growth centre at Ganeshnagar under Dhansiri sub-division of Dimapur district. The ambitious 17-crore project with all the required infrastructural facilities such as post-telecom, bank, hospitals and industrial housing etc would be completed by June next. State government has high aspirations from the mini-industrial township, the foundation of which was laid by the State Chief Minister SC Jamir in the first year of his present tenure, 1998. Centre has released its share of Rs 15 crore while the State government is yet to release Rs 60 lakh out of its share of Rs 2 crore. The project with a total area of 900 acres would be functional in the middle of the current financial year, according to Industries and Commerce department. Meanwhile, the union ministry of small-scale industries and agro rural industries has agreed to sanction setting up of two integrated infrastructural development centres in Nagaland. The department of Industries and Commerce in turn has identified locations for setting up the centres?at Kiruphema under Kohima district and Longtho valley in Mokokchung district. Centre and SIDBI would fund the centres on 80:20 ratio. The estimated cost of each centre would be Rs 5 crore.
