GUWAHATI, April 24: The two injured BSF jawans who were returned to India by the Bangladesh Rifles on Sunday night, were undergoing medical treatment and were not yet questioned on the methods of torture leading to their injury and killing of 16 of their colleagues by BDR on Wednesday last, according to R C Silkoti, commandant, BSF headquarters, Shillong, reports PTI. The two injured jawans Akshay Kumar and Bimal Kumar, admitted at the Battalion Hospital in Meghalaya's Tura, "were now under medical care and their questioning had not yet started as they were now being made to feel comfortable," Silkoti told PTI here over yesterday over phone from Shillong. To a quarry, Silkoti said they were likely to be shifted for better medical facilities elsewhere but the hospital and place were not yet decided. "They have blunt injuries on several parts of their bodies but their eyes are all right," he added. Last rites : The body of BSF havildar Dhyan Chand, killed by Bangladesh Rifles along with 15 others on the Assam-Bangladesh border on Wednesday, was cremated on Monday in Tura of Meghalaya. The last rites were performed with full honours and gun salute at the 118 BSF battalion grounds amidst chanting of holy scriptures, BSF Headquarters Commandant R C Silkoti told PTI. The family members of the slain jawan, however, could not arrive for the cremation, Silkoti said.
