Jamir opens Dimapur water supply project

KOHIMA, March 3 ? Nagaland Chief Minister SC Jamir on Friday dedicated the augmented water supply project at Dimapur to the people of the State and called upon them to change their mindset on holding of land system to facilitate development activities reports PTI. Formally inaugurating the 13-point Rs 33-crore Water Supply Scheme at Chumukedima village, Jamir regretted encrochment of land and project site saying such activities hamper the smooth construction of schemes in many parts of the state and insisted that a new mindset of development spirit should be inculcated. The water supply project with a facility of rapid sand filters will cater to the needs of over one lakh eleven thousand people in the commercial town of Dimapur. The water supply scheme being tapped from a distance of 23 km from the town has a capacity of supplying 15 million litres per day. Listing out certain imperatives for development, the Chief Minister said the political leadership must have vision for the State and he appealed to them to imbibe a spirit of progressive idea not only confining to their locality, Jamir also asserted that the political stability is a must for development activities.
