IMPHAL, April 21: G Joykumar Sharma, vice president of the Nipamacha faction of MSCP has strongly refuted the forgery accusations hurled against them by the Chaoba group. In a statement, the vice president said far from forging the signatures of the six MLAs/ministers, Nipamacha and his group do not know anything about the forgery case. The statement went on to add that even the Election Commission did not entertain the claims and allegations of the Chaoba group when the case was being heard on April 19. Joykumar went on to add that contrary to the claims of Chaoba and his group, the Delhi police has not registered any FIR against them. If any case is registered against them while the EC is still considering the tussle within the MSCP to contempt, said the statement. Chaoba surely knows this but he is trying to hoodwink the people through false propaganda. Taking up the challenge thrown by the Chaoba group, Joykumar said Chaoba and his men had submitted different versions of the proceedings held on February 11 to the Speaker and the EC. It was during this proceedings that the decision to expel Nipamacha and seven other MLAs from the MSCP was taken by the Chaoba group, said the statement. Such act hurts the privilege of the House said Joykumar and added that the two different versions of the same proceedings are in their possession. The Chaoba group had earlier accused Nipamacha, Joykumar and Paonam Achou of forging the signatures of six Ministers/MLAs while submitting an affidavit to the Election Commission.
