KNF spells out its goal, objective

Imphal, June 08: While reasserting its goals of establishing a separate State or union territory under the Indian Union the Kuki National Front has warned of stringent action against all concerned found standing in the way of the organisation. Highlighting that the organisation was formed to pursue goal of seperate State or union territory as is legitimate under the Indian Constitution the KNF could not be branded as an outlaw for it does not break any law. The Front took up arms only to defend its people against communal violence and hatred preached by most politicians and public leaders of today, it maintained. As the KNF do not harbour any ill will against neighbouring communities there is no reason why other organisation or community should work against the interest of the outfit, it contended. A KNF press release issued by information and publicity secretary LH Stephen said the outfit is also closely monitoring on cases of killing after arrest by security forces, especially the Assam Rifles. It also accused the security forces of providing weapons and uniforms to the people whom the security forces forced to surrender only to use them (surrendered persons) against underground organisations warning of dire consequences against all concerned acting on behalf of the security force. Strongly condemning security force atrocities meted out to innocent persons the KNF also appealed to the people to extend cooperation to the outfit's endeavour in realising the cherished goal of the Kukis. Meanwhile, a seperate press release of the KNF said sergeant Max Kuki will deal with finance related matter of the outfit in the whole of Sadar Hills district that comes under Division I while division II concerning moreh and surrounding areas will be under the purview of sergeant galngam. In case of division IV covering Imphal and surrounding areas Romel Kuki will handle the matter, the KNF press release added.
