KYKL to continue collecting taxes

Imphal, January 09: The KYKL today said it has not been able to do anything for the people rather than collecting money and giving hardships. The organization has been collecting money from the people and it is not expecting any support from abroad which is unlikely it said. The organization is not involved in any activities which can be considered bad like drug and narcotics. It is against its principles K Koireng Finance Secy today said in a press statement. There is no organization which does not take support from the people it said. It would be a wrong step if collection of taxes is stopped it said. It would be a wrong policy to send demand letters of huge amount of money. There is nothing wrong to demand from people who earned money through wrong means it said. However one would be destroying the dreams of the people if money is taken from people who are earning their livelihood it added. The organization is trying to decrease the tax rate and increase the base.Tax and donation are different it clarified. Tax has to be fixed by the organization collecting the tax it said. One can be punished for not giving tax it said. The organization forcibly collects money from those who earn money wrongly it clarified. It will take some time to stop sending demand letters it said. The money collected is not used wrongly it said. All the money are used to procure arms, maintain the army and to make the organization move forward to achieve the goal he lastly said.
