Lakhs throng Sankardev Sangha Session

DHEMAJI, February 16: About six lakh devotees thronged at Paramananda Aata Khetra, here on the third day of the 70th session of Srimanta Sankardev Sangha. People from all corners of the State are attending the session. The programme today began with hoisting of flag-Dharmadhaja by Karuna Kanta Kalita, Padadhikar of the Sangha, in the morning. At 9.30 am a colourful Bhagawat Yatra, was taken out where more than one lakh people participated. A children, youth and mother conference was also held today. The conference was inaugurated by P N Bora, Principal, Dhemaji College. Jatin Mipur and U N Gogoi participated as special guests. Runumi Deka, Rina Bora Saikia, Mahimamayee Kachari, Mrinal Bania and Parismita Gogoi delivered speeches in the meeting. Cultural section meeting was held during the afternoon hours. The meeting was presided over Nilakanta Bora, president, cultural section. Nabakrishna Rajkhowa, inaugurated. It may be mentioned here that Marwary Yuva Manch has provided drinking water to about 50,000 devotes everyday at Dhemaji town. Other NGOs and shop owners have also served the people. The programmes of the conference are going on in a very disciplined manner.
