Mangaibou new Dy Speaker of Manipur

IMPHAL, March 23: Z Mangaibou of Manipur State Congress Party (MSCP) was on Friday unanimously elected new Deputy Speaker of the Manipur Assembly, Speaker Sapam Dhananjoy announced in the State Assembly, reports PTI. Dhananjoy said Mangaibou was the lone candidate for the post following resignation of K Raina of former Federal Party of Manipur (FPM) about a month ago. He said Chief Minister, Radhabinod Koijam had proposed Mangaibou's name which was seconded by the Public Health Engineering Minister, O Joy Singh of Manipur People's Party. Earlier Raina had resigned from the post of Deputy Speaker and formed the 'Democratic Federal Party of Manipur' along with former Arts and Culture Minister, Thoiba Singh.
