Manipur outfit’s bid to check unfair means at HSLC exams

IMPHAL, March 17 :As part of intensifying their task of cleansing the education system under its Operation New Kangleipak (ONK), the proscribed Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup, said that it would intensify its campaign in the ensuing High School Leaving Certificate examination. The outfit in a statement issued here said that teachers who do not take action against cheating inside the examination halls and who encourage the students to use unfair means would be forced to resign. Heads of institutions who cannot control and stop their teachers and students from cheating will also be forced to resign, parents, elders and all others who lobby for their wards and children during examination would be divested of all their belongings, students who threaten teachers to resort to unfair means and who are opposed to the campaign to stop the cheating culture would not be allowed to continue their academic pursuit for five years and students who go to the extreme length will be punished with guns, students and family elders who commit the same error three time will be punished with guns, said the outfit.

The statement further said that KYKL will now keep a close tab on not only the public examination but also internal examinations of schools such as terminal examination. Teachers who do not dispense with their duties diligently and sincerely and indulge in immoral activities inside the campus of the institutions will also be forced to resign from their service,” said the outfit.

Stating that the decisions of the outfit is final, the statement said KYKL will not budge from its stand even if the whole world opposes them and reasoned that their decisions have to do with the survival of society. On the teachers who have been ordered to resign from their service, the outfit said they will be entitled to their pay and salaries for the month of March. The outfit warned that if the penalised teachers try to rejoin service again they would be awarded the death penalty.

It also dwelt at length on how the culture of mass copying started and added that without education no Nation or a group of people can ever progress. Mention may be made here that the outfit had asked around 17 teachers of different educational institutions to leave their jobs for their involvement in encouraging mass copying and cheating in the recently concluded higher secondary examination.
