MDF submits petition calling for 4 MLAs' disqualification

IMPHAL, January 11: As a follow-up step to topple the United Front Ministry led by Wahengbam Nipamacha Singh, the Manipur Democratic Front (MDF) has launched another move for disqualification four MLAs in the ruling front by submitting a petition to the Manipur Legislative Assembly. The supplementary petition submitted to the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly seeking disqualification of four of the seven ruling MLAs against whom the Speaker had already served his judgement. The four ministers against whom the supplementary petition was filed on Wednesday are Minister of State for Public Health Engineering Onjamang Haokip, Minister of Sericulture Hangkhangpao, Minister of State for Family Welfare S Chandra and Minister of State for Minorities and Backward Classes Allauddin. It may be mentioned here that the Speaker Sapam Dhananjoy Singh had reserved the judgement of the disqualification cases against seven MLAs, who are now ministers in the United Front Ministry.
