GUWAHATI, Dec 20 ? Six of the Indian militants captured by the Royal Bhutan Army (RBA) in its operation to dislodge the Indian militants? camps since December 15 were handed over to the State police at Tamulpur, this evening, police sources said. The militants include ULFA publicity secretary Mithinga Daimary and two others from the ULFA and three from the NDFB.
The RBA has captured a good number of militants belonging to the ULFA, NDFB and KLO in its drive against them. Besides Mithinga Daimary, the captured militants include ULFA armed wing leaders Bening Rabha and Robin Neog and NDFB publicity secretary B Erakdao. Bening and Robin were captured yesterday at Vhangtar.
The self-styled lieutenant of the ULFA, Biju Deka surrendered to the Bhutanese authorities yesterday at Deothang along with 20 others militants of the outfit. They also laid down arms and ammunition.
Our Nalbari Correspondent adds: The militants handed over this evening included Mithinga Daimary, Baba Rabha and Indarmohan Roy of the ULFA and D Mulampha, Moiria Daimary and Janindra Brahma of the NDFB. They were being interrogated till the filing of this report at midnight at Tamulpur police station by senior police officials.
Police sources in Tamulpur also added that this night a contingent of ?refugees? from Bhutan might arrive at Tamulpur. These ?refugees? may include the women and children belonging to the families of the militants. Already, vehicles to keep them at Tamulpur have been set to Bhutan. They will be screened tomorrow by the Army and police authorities at Tamulpur, police sources in Tamulpur said.
Meanwhile, a PTI report from Sandrup Jongkhar said that the body of ULFA ideologue, Bhimkanto Buragohain alias ?mama? was tonight handed over to his family at Ahomgaon in Tinsukia district.
