No consensus on Meghalaya RS nominee

SHILLONG, March 14?The ruling Meghalaya People?s Forum (PFM) today exposed cracks in the coalition Government with all the three major constituents-NCP, Congress and Meghalaya United Democratic Party (MUDP) propping up candidates for the lone Rajya Sabha seat from the State. Sitting Rajya Sabha member O L Nongtdu (Congress), Robert Kharshiing (NCP) and S S Lyngdoh (MUDP) were the three candidates who filed their nominations on the last day today for filing of papers. SD Khongwir of Opposition United Democratic Party (UDP) also filed his nomination today. Denying any rift in the coalition Government, a PFM spokesman said ?it is a democratic exercise and we are engaged in a friendly fight.?
