GUWAHATI, April 11 ? Representatives of the Nyishi tribe in Arunachal Pradesh and Bodos in the hill State and Assam today held a meeting in Itanagar to evolve ways to put an end to the clashes and conflicts between the two communities in Arunachal Pradesh. The joint meeting which was held at the Banquet Hall in Itanagar called for restoration of peace and harmony by putting an end to all sorts of unwanted incidents of kidnapping, torture, extortion etc. that had strained the relationship between the two communities and pledged to work unitedly to prevent recurrence of such incidents in inter-State boundary areas.

The All Bodo Students Union (ABSU) president, Rabiram Narzary who led the Bodo delegation in the joint meeting, informed The Assam Tribune over phone from Itanagar that a peace committee consisting members of both the communities was formed today to ensure peaceful co-existence of both the communities in the hill State.
