Over Rs 18 lakh spent for Ministers' TA : Assam CM

GUWAHATI, March 11? The Chief Minister, Tarun Gogoi, today informed the State Assembly that Rs 18,78,310 were spent from the State exchequer during the period from May 17,2001 to February 28,2002 as travel allowance of members of the State Ministry.

The House was informed that an amount of Rs 4,86,374 was spent as TA for the Chief Minister during the period, while Rs 84,657 was spent for Health and Rural Development Minister, Dr Bhumidhar Barman, Rs 65,801 for Handloom and Fishery Minister Dr Hemo Prova Saikia Rs 95,696 for Forest and Hill Areas Development Minister G C Langthasa, Rs 95,085 for PWD Minister Sarat Barkotoky, Rs 1,10,487 for Finance, Revenue and Power Minister, Devananda Konwar, Rs 1,41,545 for PHE Minister Dinesh Prasad Goala, Rs 1,14,844 for Food and Civil Supplies Minister, Dr Ardhendu Kumar Dey, Rs 75,924 for Flood Control and Cooperation Minister, Bharat Chandra Narah, Rs 32,592 for Char Area Development Minister Ismail Hussain, Rs 1,69,876 for Labour Minister Rameswar Dhanowar, Rs 72,322 for Veterinary, Education Minister, Hem Prakash Narayan, Rs 41,449 for Transport Minister Anjan Dutta, Rs 51,033 for Minister of State for Agriculture, Fishery, Power, Najibul Omar, Rs 1,40,650 for Minister of State Home, Finance, Industry, Science and Technology, Pradyut Bordoloi and Rs 1,01,975 for Minister of State for Handloom and Textile, Rupam Kurmi.

Moreover two persons Silvius Condopan and Anowara Taimur, who were appointed in the rank of Cabinet Minister by the present Government under political consideration, incurred total Rs 18,675 as travel expenditure during the same period.
