However the State police force is yet to resume counter insurgency operations. Talking to The Sangai Express this evening, DGP DS Grewal said that the state government is yet to intimate to the police whether the ceasefire has been called off or is in force. He said operations are being suspended for the time being but hastened to add that the police are put on high alert for any eventuality. He further said the decision rests entirely with the state government and the police will abide with the decision of the Government. Grewal said the police department is awaiting official intimation from the state government. The Government had earlier decided to extend the truce offer by another one month but the matter came under a cloud after the Union Home Minister reportedly shot down the proposal.
