Portfolios of council of ministers distributed im Manipur

IMPHAL, February 24: Portfolios of all the 34 ministers in the People's Front government headed by the Chief Minister Radhabinod Koijam, have been distributed as per a notice issued today by the Governor, Ved Marwah. Contrary to expectations that the prestigious home and finance portfolios would go to the BJP, the Chief Minister has kept them for himself, together with the department of personnel and administrative reforms, cabinet and all other departments not allocated specifically to any other minister. Nobody gets deputy Chief Ministership but the BJP stalwart, Col (retd) H Bhuban Singh, figured second in the list after the Chief Minister, and has been awarded the responsibility of higher education and labour and employment. The MPP president, O Joy Singh, is next and gets public health engineering and law and legislative. The MSCP rebel leader, and former sports minister, M Hemanta, gets the charge of horticulture and soil conservation, while the president of the FPM, Gangmumei Kamei retains his old portfolio of forest and environment and election. Borobabu Singh gets irrigation and flood control, T Bira has to settle with rural development and panchayati raj and Nimaichand Luwang gets health and family welfare. M Okendro gets power, Haokholet Kipgen, tribal welfare while Ksh Biren Singh wins the plum post of FCS. The full list of cabinet ministers are: H Bhuban Singh (higher education and labour and employment); O Joy Singh (PHE and law and legislative); M Hemanta (horticulture and soil conservation); Gangmumei Kamei (forest and environment and election); Kh Amutombi Singh (planning, tourism and cooperation); Nimaichand Luwang (health and family welfare); M Thohrii (works); H Borobabu Singh (irrigation and flood control); M Manihar (vety and animal husbandary and art and culture); N Nimai Singh (education (S) and SCERT); L Johnathan (sericulture): T Bira (rural development and panchayati raj); M Okendro (power); Haokholet Kipgen (tribal welfare); Md Allaudin (minorities and OBC and CADA); Ksh Biren Singh (FCS); M Kunjo Singh (commerce and industry); H Sanayaima (revenue and LDA). S Bira (minor irrigation and fishery and govt. press); Thangminlien Kipgen (agriculture); Songchinkup (social welfare, economics and statistics and wt and m); S Rajen Singh (YAS), L Jayentakumar (MAHUD) and Khasim Ruivah (transport and science and technology). The ministers of state are: Laishram Kerani (PHED and corporation); T Manga Vaiphei (IFCD and forest and environment); Kh Loken (finance and higher education); A Biren Singh (education and finance); K Ranjit Singh (health and family welfare and GAD). W Leima Devi (social welfare and commerce and industry); Danny Shaiza (tribal welfare and horticulture and soil conservation); Kh Chandra (agriculture and rural development); and Ngurshanglur (works and YAS).
