AIZAWL, April 19: A privilege motion was moved on Thursday in the Mizoram Assembly against the state finance department for its 'refusal' to incorporate the recommendations of the Assembly Budget Committee in the annual budget, reports PTI. The motion of privilege and contempt of the House had earlier been moved at the meeting of the Assembly Budget Committee by member L L Lianchia and was accepted by the committee. H Laltanpuia, member of the budget committee moved the privilege motion in the Assembly, which was referred to the Assembly Privilege Committee. Irate members said that while the Budget Committee of the Assembly was authorised by the House to prepare budgetary provisions for the Assembly secretariat, the state finance department refused to incorporate its recommendations in the budget papers. Chief Minister Zoramthanga who also holds the finance portfolio had earlier tendered an apology to the Assembly in this regard.
