GUWAHATI, March 14: The Regional Democratic Alliance (RDA) has roped in nine regional as well as national parties to fight tooth and nail the BJP, Congress and the AGP in the coming Assembly polls in the State. Addressing mediapersons here this morning, PA Sangma, former Lok Sabha Speaker and senior leader of the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) stated that the parties in the alliance are - Asom Gana Sangram Parishad (AGSP), Purbanchaliya Loka Parishad (PLP), Asom Jatiya Sanmilan, Janata Dal (Secular), Revolutionary Communist Party of India (RCPI), Revolutionary Socialist Party (RSP), Communist Party of India (ML), and Asom Labour Party led by the NCP. Sangma said that coordination committee comprising presidents and secretaries of these parties have been formed for preparing the code of conduct of the alliance. Besides, a meeting for seat-sharing adjustments would begin from 3 pm today for finalising the candidates for the polls. Sangma said that although the RDA would like to field candidates in each of the 126 seats of the Assembly, it might not be feasible for putting up candidates in a few seats of Karbi Anglong and NC Hills districts. Sangma said that RDA would try its best to give a tough fight to BJP, Congress and the AGP so that none of them are able to capture power.
