Surrendered ultras rehabilitated in Tripura

AGARTALA, April 8 : Tripura government has rehabilitated 59 surrendered insurgents through a year-long vocational training, official sources said today, reports PTI. State Chief Minister Manik Sarkar formally announced their rehabilitation at Shikaribari of Dhalai district yesterday and handed over necessary credentials to them. The insurgents belong to Tripura Tiger Commando Forces (TTCF) who had surrendered to different security agencies in the State during the past few years and under went vocational training under government sponsored rehabilitation scheme. The Chief Minister said the surrendered insurgents have set an example to those who are still perpetrating subversive activities in the State. He appealed to those ultras to shun the path of violence and return to the mainstream. Official sources said among the 59 insurgents, 13 were given government jobs according to their educational and other qualities and rest were given financial and technical assistance to run trade, farming and other occupation of their choice.
