TTAADC chief quits

AGARTALA, March 10: Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Chief Executive Member Debabrata Kaloi resigned here last night owing to an internal feud in the Indeginous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT), reports UNI. Kaloi tendered his resignation letter to Council Chairman Hirendra Tripura as most of the TTAADC members in the IPFT demanded his resignation. Later, a three-member delegation, led by Tripura met Governor Lt Gen (retd) KM Seth and apprised him of the development. IPFT sources said here today that TTAADC members belonging to the tribal-based party will meet here in a day or two to elect a new leader. During last year's district council election, the IPFT won 18 seats and came to power while the CPI(M)-led Left Front secured the remaining 10 seats in the 30-member Council. Two seats are nominated by the Governor.
