UGs held with cash receipt memo from Manipur candidate

Imphal, February 05: Nine KYKL(T) activists were apprehended by Manipur Rifles (1st IRB) from the Maphou Dam area today. The IRB personnel posted at the Maphou Dam apprehended the ultras while conducting a routine frisking in the area, said an official release from the PRO, police department. One demand letter for Rs 2 lakhs addressed to Laishram Kadamjit Singh, FPM candidate of Wangkhem A/C, one money receipt for Rs 3 lakhs from the same candidate, a walkie talkie set and the jeep bearing regd no MN03 A-0924, in which they were moving were recovered from those apprehended and a case has been registered in this regard, said the release. Those apprehended are identified as Heikrujam Sanjoy Singh alias Ingomacha, 20, Ayekpam Basanta Singh alias Tondonba, 18, Moirangthem Kanta Singh, Laishram Ingobi Singh alias Ingoni, 31, all of Yairipok Chingtha, Sukham Raghumani Singh alias Raghu, 24, of Puthem Keirampi Yairipok, Loitongbam Ranjit Singh, 16, of Yairipok Top Chingtha, Yumnam Premjit Singh, 18, of Yairipok, Khundrakpam Subon Singh, 32, of Yairipok Khoirom Atongbam Bazar and Laishram Ibomcha Singh, 25, of Wangkhem Mayai Leikai.
