AGARTALA, Dec 24 ? Wild goose chase is on in the police circles about the surrender of the breakway Nayanbashi faction in the NLFT outfit. Many eyebrows are being raised over the fact that the real identity of the outfit members who are slated to laid down their arms on December 25.
According to sources Nayanbashi fled to Bangladesh with a sum of Rs. 25 lakh from the outfits fund. Police are at their wits end to ascertain the actual members of the Nayanbashi members. Self-styled vice-president of the faction Buchuk Barak and Prime Minister Aron Barak are all at sea to prepare the catalogue of the militants slated to surrender on December 25.
They are deadly against giving the youths chosen by Nayanbashi to lay down arms. On the other hand if the tribal youths are debarred from the opportunity the number of outfit members will be reduced.
According to secret sources in the administrative level, no list of the militant members have been given yet. Reports came from the camp of the outfit that the preparations are on in full swing among the fake members to lay down arms. Some of the members had faced the ire of the Aron Borok and have been driven by them.
It may be mentioned in this connection that a tripartite agreement involving state government, central government and NLFT Nayanbashi faction has been signed in April. According to reports, at least 106 youths have bribed Nayanbashi to offer them an opportunity to surrender. The rebel leader have been reportedly received a sum of Rs 16 lakh from the tribal youths.
Mainly in order to reap the benefits of the rehabilitation schemes, the youths bribed the rebel leader but after the fleeing of the rebel leader in Bangladesh with 25 lakh pushed them to back foot. Now, it remains to be seen how many real members of the outfit will surrender on the prescribed day.
