DIMAPUR, MAY 17– Hectic preparations are on in full swing for the Miss Northeast 2004, which is to be held at Kohima on May 19 in commemoration of its 125th year celebration. The organisers of the beauty pageant, the Beauty & Aesthetic Society of Nagaland (BASN), has, in a release, announced that a number of prominent personalities and celebrities from not only the region but also from other parts of the country would be attending the pageant in different capacities.
Prominent among them is Miss World 1999 Yukta Mookhey who is scheduled to wow the crowd as a special guest. Yukta has walked the ramps in all the fashion capitals of the world from Mumbai to Paris. An ambassador for the country during her reign as Miss World, today she has made her mark as a talented actress in Bollywood.
Another expected celebrity to make the hearts of the teenyboppers beat a little faster is TV anchor and choreographer Kelly Dorjee. Kelly has been a brand ambassador for some of the most well known multi-national companies and has anchored popular television programmes in various channels like Star Plus and Star World.
Besides the star-studded guest list, beauties from all the north-eastern States will be on stage and the pageant will also highlight some of the most talented performers in music, dance and fashion from the entire region. The organisers stress that it “will be a celebration of youth, beauty and the aesthetic values of the region in all its glory”. This is the second time that Nagaland is hosting the Northeast Pageant.
