Abortive project
Security personnel keep vigil on the East-West corridor construction site at Mahur, some 42 km from Haflong, headquarter of North Cachar Hills district, on July 2, 2009. As many as four construction companies have already dropped out from the Rs 800 crore project over abductions, killings and extortion by militant groups in the area.
