Don’t meet NSCN-IM leaders in Bangkok : BJP secy to Hoho

DIMAPUR, Jan 7— The B J P national secretary and organizational in-charge, NE States, P B Acharya while appreciating the motive and spirit of reconciliation of Naga groups for permanent peace in Nagaland expressed concern over the move of the apex tribal council of Nagas—the Naga Hoho, church leaders, human rights activists and other social workers to meet NSCN (IM) leadership in Bangkok terming it to be setting of ‘wrong precedent’. Acharya while interacting with M Vero, president Naga Hoho during his recent three-day stay at the State capital expressed full support for the ongoing Naga reconciliation effort under the initiative of Naga Hoho but at the same time he also appealed to the Hoho and other leaders to avoid setting wrong precedents by deciding to meet the NSCN (IM) leaders at Bangkok, stated a release issued by the co-ordinator, BJP NEBA States, Guwahati. He appealed to the Naga Hoho and the concerned leaders to hold the meeting either at Kohima or in Delhi where the NSCN (IM) leaders could freely come and interact, the release added. Acharya also stated that the NDA government at the Centre is committed to solve the Naga problem through talks in order to bring permanent peace in the state in particular and in the north eastern States in general. The release further stated that, “PB Acharya welcomes the efforts of Naga Hoho, except the idea of visiting Bangkok for the purpose.”
