Tax free, deficit Budget presented in Arunachal

ITANAGAR, March 19: Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Mukut Mithi today presented a 'tax free' deficit Budget for 2001-2002 in the State Assembly proposing several stringent cuts in the expenditure to streamline the fiscal conditions, reports PTI. The Budget showed total receipt of Rs 1345.49 crore and expenditure of Rs 1346.92 crore showing an overall deficit of Rs 1.43 crore. Arunachal govt hikes royalty on timber

ITANAGAR, March 2: The ruling Congress Government led by Mukut Mithi in this Himalayan State has hiked the royalty on all categories of timber and other forest products by 15 per cent with immediate effect. CAG pulls up Arunachal govt for non-implementation of PDS

ITANAGAR, July 25: The Comptroller and Auditor General of India has pulled up the Arunachal Civil Supplies department for not effectively implementing the public distribution system during the period 1992-99 due to defective budgeting.
