Khaplang for minimisation of enmity among ultra groups

KOHIMA, March 21? NSCN (K) chairman S S Khaplang on Thursday tendered apology before the Naga people for ?human errors? committed by its cadres and called for fighting against global terrorism from Naga soil, reports PTI. Insisting on unity and understanding among the Nagas in the spirit of forget and forgiveness, the NSCN (K) chairman said it was the right time for all Nagas to come together despite all differences. ?Nagas have reached a juncture to forgive and forget the past mistakes. Khaplang said in a message to the people on the 23rd ?Naga Republic Day.? Different Naga underground groups have been celebrating March 21 as the ?Naga republic Day?. This gesture comes at a time when various Naga NGOs have been working for re-conciliation among the deeply divided Nagas to heal their wounds as a prerequisite for permanent settlement to the vexed Naga political problem. Earlier, NSCN (I-M) chairman had also tendered apology for ?excesses? committed by his cadres on Naga people and the Chief Minister pardoned all those who made attempt on his life four times in the spirit of forgiveness in the interests of the Naga cause. Khaplang in hs message said, ?I tender an apology to Naga citizens on behalf of NSCN and its cadres for all those human errors.? Favouring a ?political joint venture? to reach the goal of the Nagas, the NSCN (K) chairman said his organisation was closely keeping in touch with the leaders of Naga National Council (NNC) to create a conducive atmosphere, but regretted that NSCN (I-M) had not responded so far to the unilateral cease-fire offered to it by his group, the NSCN-K?. Insisting on ?minimisation of enmity? among the underground groups, Khaplang said, ?Whatsoever bitterness the NSCN (I-M) group shows, I take it as a temporary outburst of anger and short sightedness.? Recalling that Nagas had rendered innumerable lives in the long march to ?sovereignty?, Khaplang said, ?It is my appeal to all Nagas, NSCN (I-M) and citizens of this country to realise the fact that it is never too late for the Nagas to stand united.
