No logic to be UG when accord is reached

Imphal, Febuary 13: The Center has no plan to disband or disarm the .NSCN (IM) but the question is when Government of India can reach a. final accord with the party concerned, is there any rationale for the party to remain as it is. Ultimately they have to come overground and naturally all the arms have to be surrendered to the Government of India. Disclosing this to North East Press Service, a high ranking Central official narrated various events including that of Mizo National Front, (MNF) which took place in the past. He further explained as to how the then Mizo militant outfit, MNF, culminated into a final accord with the Government of India. So ultimately all those Mizo underground militants came overground and surrendered their arms to the authority. Similarly Bodo underground outfit had very recently entered into an "Accord" with the Government of India and decks are now cleared for them to carry out their activities as per the "Accord," the Central official stated. So, is there any logic for them to continue to be militant organization, the Central official questioned. Therefore, it is not surprised that NSCN (IM) too comes on the similar line as and when such final accord is arrived at with the Government of India, he added. Defending the recent controversial remarks made by the Center's interlocutor for Naga peace talks K Padmanabhaiah that disarming the Naga insurgents and disbanding the NSCN(IM) were the ultimate objectives of the Government of India before reaching any agreement, the Official explained that some sections of papers made sensational captions out of the statements of the Interlocutor (Padmanabhaiah). But what he (Padmanabhaiah) exactly meant was to ask the Naga insurgent outfits to surrender their arms as and when any final accord is arrived at with the Government of India. It may be mentioned that the NSCN (IM) earlier reacted strongly against the statement of the Padmanabhaiah stating that there was no agreement nor understanding or commitment as stated by him (Padmanabhaiah.) The outfit said uttering such statements by Padmanabhaiah had only shown that "he is not working for the solution but to suppress the right of the Nagas."
