Kathalguri power project marked 'excellent'

GUWAHATI, Feb 28 ? The Kathalguri gas based power project of the North Eastern Electric Power Corporation (NEEPCO) has become the first power station of the North-eastern region to be declared as the centre of excellence by the Government of India. NEEPCO sources said that the installed capacity of the power plant is 291 mw, consisting of six gas turbine units each of 33.5 MW and three steam turbine units each of 30 mw capacity. Manipur begins new financial year with Rs 800 cr burden

IMPHAL, March 31: With the financial year 2000-2001 ending today, the state will be carrying over liabilities of around Rs 800 crore into the next financial year. The state PWD alone is burdened with liabilities of over Rs 120 crore, according to a reliable source in the state finance department. Threats by insurgents; Centre shifts 2 POL distributors from Assam

AGARTALA, July 19: Members of the Tripura Assembly today condemned Agartala Doordarshan Kendra station director VN Jauhuri for challenging the authority of the House.
