Tension after Manipur battalion refuses to go on transfer

Red alert as 7th MR constabulary gets mutinous

Imphal, May 12: A security alert had been sounded from this afternoon after the personnel of 7th MR headquarters at Khabeisoi village under Heingang police station refused to have negotiations with the DGP and other senior police police officials regarding the orders to shift the headquarters to Taphou in Senapati district. Manipur fails to utilize funds for police

Imphal, May 10: Even though political parties have been harping on modernizing the security forces of the state, the government has failed to utilize the funds for the past some years under the Security Related Expenses (SRE) sponsored by the Centre. Imphal, April 24: Manipur Human Rights Commission member Y Laba has suggested to the O Ibobi Government to seriously consider the reviewing of the Disturbed Areas Act now in force in the State.
