ULFA shifts 3 camps to interior areas

GUWAHATI, July 28 - The banned United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) has shifted three of its big camps further deep inside Bhutanese territory to avoid conflicts with the Royal Bhutan Army (RBA), according to the deputy inspector-general of the Border Security Force (BSF), Ashok Kumar. NHRC to recommend Dr Baruah's case to full bench

NEW DELHI, July 28: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has decided to refer the complaint lodged by Dr Dhani Ram Baruah to the full bench of the Commission. The controversial surgeon who was in the news for transplanting a pig heart into a human being had filed a complaint with the NHRC alleging human rights violation by the Assam government. The commission had since heard the representatives of the two sides and reserved its order.

Mizoram govt keen on trade post on Bangla border

AIZAWL, July 28: The Mizoram government is making concerted efforts to make the sub-treasury at the India-Bangladesh border town of Tlabung functional so that border trade between the two countries can be started at the earliest.
