Saran in Arunachal to assess border trade potential

ITANAGAR, Nov 27 ? Foreign Secretary Shyam Saran today visited the border areas in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh to assess the trade potential at the international border there with China and Bhutan, reports PTI.

Saran, who arrived here on a three-day visit yesterday, accompanied by Chief Minister Gegong Apang visited several points, including Gelling bordering China. After a night halt at Yingkion he will visit Tawang tomorrow which borders China and Bhutan, official sources said here.

ULFA seeks plebiscite on sovereignty

Militant outfit United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) today alleged that the Government of India was maintaining double standard on the issue of talks and demanded a plebiscite on the issue of sovereignty of Assam. Ask Tripura Govt not to violate ceasefire, NLFT urges Centre

NEW DELHI, Nov 26 ? Leaders of insurgent outfit National Liberation Front of Tripura (NLFT), who met Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil here, today said they had asked the Centre to ensure that the Left Front government in the state does not ?violate? the ceasefire agreement with them, reports PTI.

Ultra outfit punishes ?errant? teachers in Manipur
