NECCI moves PM not to include N Bengal in NEC

GUWAHATI, Nov 22 ? The North East Chamber of Commerce and Industry has condemned the Centre?s move to include North Bengal in NEC. It stated that the leadership of West Bengal during the last couple of years has been advocating extension of benefit of North Eastern Council (NEC) for the development of North Bengal particularly Siliguri. Forest ministry approves Subansiri power project

GUWAHATI, Nov 22 - The Union Environment and Forest Ministry has approved the 2,000 MW Lower Subansiri Hydroelectric Power project under Section 2 of the Forest (Conservation) Act. The project is being implemented by the National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC) Limited in Arunachal Pradesh and Assam.

Construction of tribal market complex runs into rough weather
